ANI Conversion Unit
The ACU-200 (ANI Conversion Unit) is design to provide conversion from various serial ANI sources to a fixed format required for importing ANI data into call recording equipment. The initial application for the ACU-200 is in converting call number information provide by E-911 PSAP equipment to forms acceptable by audio recording equipment, in order to facilitate the efficient identification and retrieval of recorded calls. It can handle a wide variation of input formats via configuration parameters, which are stored in nonvolatile memory. A program running on an external PC, enables rapid setup and verification for situations where the source numbering scheme does not match the recording positions.
The ACU-200 has a primary bi-directional serial port which is capable of interacting with data sources which require handshaking and/or transmission acknowledgment. A secondary (input only) serial port is also provided for retrieving ANI data or daisy-chaining from another ACU,CIU or MFU.

The ACU-600 has, in addition to all the capabilities of the ACU-200, 6 telephone line interfaces, each of which can be individually factory configured to detect either calling number delivery data (caller-ID) or multi-frequency ANI as provided on E911 trunks. EXACOM can configure any combination on request, two standard variations have been given unique model designations. The
CIU-600 has all 6 lines configured for call-ID, while the MFU-600 has all 6 lines configured for MF ANI.
